Megan Sexton Brendel
Megan has been a Ridgeback lover most of her life. She was raised alongside litters of RR puppies; attending dog shows almost every weekend and even tried Juniors. Then she added Ridgebacks to her family 20 years ago concentrating on Conformation, Scentwork and FastCat. Her male, Changa, was the 5th Ridgeback to achieve his Scentwork Novice title. Her bitch, Nia, won the Top 25 competition at the 2024 RRCUS National Specialty whose lineage goes back 8 generations to our first Ridgeback, Tanga. Purchased in 1966 by my parents, she was the start of Rifrug Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
Megan is dedicated to the breed and has recently joined the RRCF board as Secretary. As the New England Hound Association Secretary, she is currently applying to the AKC for club recognition. She was also the RRCUS Corresponding Secretary for 4 years.
After moving to Vermont in 1991, Megan concentrated on raising her 2 children. Involved with the kids’ activities and sports, the local Women’s Club, chairing fund raising events, she has always enjoyed charitable work. Her dogs are a part of her life now and join her on hikes year-round exploring the woods and dog shows.
